This was my husband and I's 25th anniversary trip, and first trip without our kids. We had a wonderful stay at this resort! This resort IS clean! Check in/out was smooth and easy, staff friendly and courteous. Our room was spacious and clean with a fabulous view of the Atlantic and pier. Housekeeping was friendly, and respectful of our wants and needs. We had them come in every 2 days. The resort pools were clean and not very crowded (I would recommend traveling this time of year for couples like us with kids in college). The only thing I would have liked was a hot tub. My husband spent most of his days fishing on the pier. He said staff at convenience store bait shop helpful. We ate 2 breakfasts at Marlins food was good, we especially liked omelet bar and fresh waffles, good value for the money. Convenient for the early riser who wants to hit the beach. The only issues we had was the available laundry facility. There was no laundry soap available for purchase and the machines themselves were run down and dirty. We ended up doing this off site. Also our room keys would not open fitness room. All in all great value for the money, would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Springmaid Beach Resort Live Oaks from 8/21-8/27 and we really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel inside decor was a tad bit outdated but overall it was clean and everyone was very nice and the price was very affordable and a great value. The grounds were well kept, the atmosphere quiet and cozy. With the hotel being between two empty lots and the Pier, the beach seemed like an intimate spot for couples or families to enjoy a quiet day at the beach but close enough to the main strip to enjoy night life after sunset. The Pier was great too, we went fishing and just sat there admiring the view. We would def recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

I booked the hotel with great hestitation due to all the negative comments. Upon check in I was told that I had to come back at 4 as my room wasnt ready we decided to go swimming to kill time upon entering the pool at the Palmetto there was puck in the pool not too many ppl noticed it however I did reported it to the front desk they had someone respnd quickly..Upon checking into the room it smelled misty the ceiling had black stains what i thought appeared to be mold the bathroom had rust on the drop ceilings... If your looking for an afffordable place on the beach and your not sensitive to odors u may consider stayin here I will def not be returning Sometimes you get what you pay for.. i will pay next time to have a cleaner nicer smelling environment

08/08/2010Had a very good stay. just wish i had more time. will definitely stay here again. excellent location quiet and safe. spacious room and accomodations. better than i expected.
